Ive always travelled really minimally. No plans except for knowing which countries I want to see. But I do research on the places so that I can decide where to go on the spot.

I'd go to Iraq if I could be guarenteed my safety, would be amazing to be able to photograph and tell the story of each side caught up in what is happening.

one question, one answer for me:
Papua New Guine.
In mid August when on the Highland close to Goreme village there is the Sing Sing Tribes Festival.
then some days around the Higlands, and then a week along the Sepik River.
finally a trip from PNG to the Salomon Islands to visit the Trobriands islands.
totally 20-23 days.
price around 5000 euros per person.

nothing more.

no...normally i buy a Lonely Planet, a big map and only the airplane tickets.
i choise before 4 or 5 places that we must visit, but nothing more.
mt tickets were noramlly open, so we can decied to remains some days more or less in that country.
When we were in Burma there was a terrifiant weather on the southern seacost and after a 20 days tour in the north and central Burma, we choose to go at the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia.
we did the same thing the year before when we where in Vietnam. bad weathers in the Delta islands, and we went in Redang and Perhentians.
Also when we were in New Zealand we didn't go to Fijii 'cause there was a Golpe few days before and choose for Cook Islands.

Open Tickets are a great thing!!!

Hi Kev, could be the same one - he settled and worked in Nottingham after the war, and died only recently. Look out the book - I recommend it.

Ah, Kev, if you knew what this question made me think...
Well, the more i see the world (travelling but mainly through TE) the more i feel i need to know my country better and despite its continental size, i would like to travel like Claude does in India. or Swiatek does.
There is a 'route of faith' in the deep brazilian "sert緌" i would love to visit.
Thanks for helping me verbalize this.
Warm regards,
Isabel

wow! You've sure got that one worked out Paulo! - this free ticket thing was a real thing for me and my wife that came unexpectedly last Friday - perhaps bizarrely or not we are going west to British Columbia - Vancouver and then wherever the whim takes us!

Strange - all my instincts and interests are to go East - this makes this mutual choice a very interesting outcome!!

best wishes Kev

That is a really interesting answer Isabel - but then in a country the size of Brazil I guees that still means travelling a fair distance - this sounds like something you must do at some time.......

Verbalise it more!!

take care - best wishes Kev
