Default Blurred uploaded photo.

Hi, I just uploaded my first photo and noticed it is a bit blurry compared to the photo on my computer. The photo is 800x347 at 244kb. Am I doing something wrong here?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris. It looks sharp enough on my monitor.

Thanks Paul for the feedback. I'm gonna try and up load a different version when it allows.
Cheers,

Hi Jorge,

Thing is, when you save in photoshop in maximum quality, your picture will be somewhere between 240-500 Kb at 800pix. So you'll have to compress 200Kb. After that one, I adjust with a small unsharp mask 20 to 40 bij 0.3 - 0.5 pix radius, 0 treshold. A small contrast enhancement of +2 to +4 and sometimes a small +1 or +2 in saturation. Then I save < 200Kb.
It is true that you will see a small quality difference in another viewer program than Photoshop. When compressing in Photoshop it will not show the loss in quality.

Another point is that a photograph feels different with a grey background in PS then it does here with this beige-toned background. What I do is that I view my photographs in Irfanview with this exact background before I post it. Then I see how it feels in TrekEarth.

Hope it helps! Merry Christmas ;-)

Dennis

Dennis thanks a bunch, it didn't occur to me that PS wouldn't show the compression. I'll try the extra sharpen and contrast to, very good point about the background colors as well.

Chris
