Photographer's Note

Sometimes, the life obliges us to reconsider our choices and to initiate some changes. In our thoughts, in our vision of the past, present and future. A complete review. Not only at the instant of our death, but at special moments of our existence, when there is an event, pleasant or unpleasant, that comes to shake the order that was keeping our daily routine balanced.

It appears like a crucial moment then, as fears and hopes seem to battle for supremacy in our heart and mind; and as something, in our consciousness, lets us know that we must pay attention; that we might not get soon another chance to re-order our life and that we should maybe not miss this opportunity.

There is a short while, then, between the moment when we get conscious of the necessity of change and the moment we act for it, when we are left alone with our questions and hesitations, and a lot of incertitudes, like in the eye of the cyclone... a moment where everything is possible, in a volatile peace.

The kind of sensation that we also can feel in the plane between two destinations... when something is finished and nothing has begun yet. A mixed feeling of vertigo and serenity, in a time in "trompe l'oeil".

When I took the plane for India, two months ago, I did not know yet, while I was up in the air, that this would lead me at such a crucial point. I knew I should give up my initial idea to go to Rajasthan, not anymore appearing adventurous enough or off-the-beaten tracks enough for my taste, after my last trips to Yemen and Iran, but I was not sure yet, what could be, then, the alternative.

And then, quicker than I thought, like by the magic hand of a djinn, I found myself in Orissa.
Here is an insight of this improvised journey, through a serie of pics under which some of you will be surprised to find my name.

I evolved for the last 4 months (very happily) in a parallel world where I feel fine and intend to stay anyway, free as an electron,... but that does not prevent visits to friends, isn't it?

So, as a tribute to you, friends still active on TE, because our common passion for photography is stronger than any borderlines, this serie is for you...
