Photographer's Note

A simple street shot in Solo old town, Central Java, from on my usual photo walkabout My attention was drawn not only on the flower power but much more on the building and the lady who was as old as the frontage itself. One couldn't help noticing the deep green 'antique' shutters with faded yellow wall represented a colourful and interesting contrast. It was a quiet afternoon here so not too many people milling about allowing plenty of scope for photography.

Setting: 60 mm, 1/60 sec, F6.3, ISO Raw 200, 1808 hrs

Contrast not only color, beautiful fresh flowers and an old neglected wall, you have a good eye for such contrast, a good reportage photo

Hello Abmdsudi,
The old yellow walls and the green double doors make a good backdrop for this lady sitting on the steps selling her many flowers spread out in front of her. The colours of the flowers are very appealing and stand out nicely.

I spent just the one night in Solo, then off to Malang and Bali the next day. The clusters of purple flowers spread out on white cloths form an attractive outdoor market. Good sharpness and the middle aged woman seems anxious for a quick sale. Tfs!

The yellow walls and dark door make for a very good background indeed for this display of flowers on sale. The lady seller is nicely placed off-centre and looking towards the space on her left and it's a good thing it wasn't busy with people and you could isolate this timeless scene for your excellent image.
