Photographer's Note

Nagarkot is a popular destination of trips from Kathmandu. At 2000 meters high, it has amazing views to 200 or 300 Km of Himalayan peaks. It is a magical place, specially at sunrise and sunset.

I think that this one was shot in late afternoon and on the horizon you can see the peaks of what I think is the Langtang range, mixed up with the clouds. The image is a pale look of the reality, but I hope that you can see that those peaks seem to be floating within the clouds. I don't know the height of those peaks, maybe a little more than 7000 meters, certainly more than 5000, as there is only snow above 4800 meters.

It's not too clever of myself to use my only daily upload with this somewhat uninteresting composition, much spoiled by poor scanning, but I didn't resist posting all the photos of Nepal that I have already scanned, as these photos have a strong meaning to me.

You can see what I did the day I shot this photo at http://www.geocities.com/nepal_indiafaq/nepal-travelog/d06.htm

PS: This TE is really something! Just after my post, I discovered that what seems to be the actual owner of this house is also a TE member (kyaron). From his photos I discovered that the place has been much improved. In his intro he has also an interesting legend of the foundation of the Kathmandu Valley, in which Nagarkot is referred.

PPS: That account of kyaron was disabled and I suspect that I know the reason, as the guy was using his account to make publicity of his place and nothing more. I regret for not having copied that legend.

Location (latitude, longitude): 27.723766,85.52488 (I am not sure about the accuracy, but my guess is that the error isn't higher than a pair of Kms /or miles)
