Photographer's Note

Yesterday, I went to the Defense days at the military base of Beauvechain. Here is a picture taken during the airshow with an modern F-16 and an old Spitfire.

Its enormous versatility is the trademark of the F-16. The F16-A was developed in the seventies in a partnership between the United States, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway. Its qualities, such as its exceptional maneuverability, were mainly focused on close dogfights. A number of modification programs, such as the Mid-Life Update, adapted the European F-16A to the technological advancements and upgraded the aircraft with the newest American Air Force F-16C electronics.
This rendered the aircraft extremely fit for execution of precision air-to-air as well as air-to-ground missions under all weather conditions by day and night.
The Air Component owns 72 aircrafts, of which 60 are integrated into NATO air defence system
