Photographer's Note

1857, Teh abitous Suiss, Jean Neuhaus, left his native city of Neuch漮el an set himself up in the Belgian capital, Brussels. Later that same year, with his brother-in-law, a pharamsist, he opened his "first pharmatical confectioners" at 25-27 galerie de la Reine, Europe first covered gallery.
Jean Neuhaus made cought sweets, liquorice for stomach complaints and bars of bitter chocolate.
On this photograph, you can see one of the stained glasses of his store, become today a very famous multinational in the field of the chocolate...
