Aquileia (see www.aquileia.net) was founded in the 181 a.C. like roman colony of forehead to the lagoon of Grado, and 9 km. from the Adriatic Sea, near the mouth of the ancient course of the Natisone river, then navigable and today nearly completely shelved.
