Venice Carnival, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

The carnival in Venice is very famous. Many masks can be seen all around, And moreover a flood of photographers invades the city. In general I don't like Venice carnival photos: they have been seen millions of times, and they all look the same. They are photos of beautiful masks rather than beautiful photos of masks! I went to Venice for the carnival last sunday for the first time, with the intention of avoiding these images and trying to be as original as possible. Trying to be original in Venice is very challenging, and challenging tasks are the engine of photography. I like this result. I hope you like it too.

Lovely framing...the two 'subjects' at opposite sides of the frame in a diagonal. The reflection in the crystal ball is a peach

J'aime beaucoup cette composition . L'image est parfaitement construite et typique de la s廨幯issime. L'effet du miroir est magique. J'aime aussi beaucoup l'encadrement noir.

La composition est tr鋊 belle et originale avec le reflet dans la sph鋨e. Belles couleurs, le bleu du ciel contraste bien avec le noir. Le cadre sobre est un bon choix.

This is a very creative representation of the carnival. The main elements are carefully placed in the frame in an imaginative manner. The BG is wonderfully out of focus with lovely soft colours.
A really first class image and a favourite for me.

un' immagine molto bella, rara, intrigante ed atmosferica. La composizione minimalista ed il soggetto complesso vogliono il massimo dal punto di vista tecnico per essere effettivi e tu hai gestito le dimensioni, la profondita', la luce ed i colori in modo abilissimo. La maschera elegante e misteriosa ed il suo idolo contro un' eco della citta' affascinante e' un' idea stupenda realizzata benissimo. Complimenti e grazie!

Perfect framing and use of the curved mirror. It is well balancing the composition on the diagonale line.
This curve mirror, even tiny inside the frame, is making the shot.
