Photographer's Note

This shot was taken in Assisi. For those with an interest in History, St Francis was born here in 1182 and his spirit hovers over every aspect of the citys life. He renounced his fathers wealth in order to pursue a life of poverty, founding the order of mendicant friars known as Order of Minors. The order was to be later known as the Franciscans after St Francis death. If you visit the Basilica di San Francisco in Assisi, you have the chance to see not only St Francis tomb located in the crypt but also some of his personal belongings such as his shirt and sandals.

Coming back to the picture, it was taken druing my walk from the Basilica towards Piazza del Comune. What you see is a wall covered by hanging red leaves, although it gives you the impression that the leaves are actually on the ground. This is achieved by the unusual perspective, I would like to think so!
