Photographer's Note

The Gennargentu massif is in the central region of Sardinia, known as Barbagia. Its highest peak is Punta La Marmora and at 1,834m (6,015ft) it is the highest peak on the island. We were going to the top.
We set off early to the trailhead and were soon rewarded by stunning views. The sun was still relatively low in the sky and there was still some haze, but I like the way the light is emphasising all the rolls and curves in this landscape. There is some over-exposure in the sky but I think it is minimal. I used both a polariser and a x8 grad to reduce the exposure in the sky and also set exposure compensation to -1.3.
