Photographer's Note

The Zeeland Bridge was built to shorten the connection between Vlissingen-Middelburg-Goes and Zierikzee-Bruinisse-Rotterdam.
The bridge has been built on 54 concrete columns carrying a traffic road with a total length of 5 kilometer between the former islands of North-Beveland and Schouwen-Duiveland. The construction of this masterpiece took about 2 years (1963-1965).
Queen Juliana officially opened the bridge on December 15, 1965. Started as a toll road, crossing the bridge became toll-free in 1993.
