On my only other post of Porto I presented much the same view taken at mid day. Now I show I show it at night, 8 hours later and some hundreds meters farther from the iron bridge. On the left side of the image (North bank of River Douro) lies the district of Ribeira, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage. The closer bridge was built between 1881 and 1886 by the the French engineer T廩phile Seyrig, who some years before had worked with Gustave Eiffel in Maria Pia Bridge, another similar bridge in Oporto. Behind it we can see a newer bridge, Ponte do Infante, opened in 2003. On the right side of the image lies the Gaia, where the famous caves of Port wine, which are one of the tourist attractions of Porto (although technically they are outside Porto) Calem, which neon sign is seen on the extreme right, is one of them.

The image is a stitch a 5 vertical images. The position on the map is of the POV.
