Photographer's Note

This is the Chapel of Santa Catarina de Monsaraz. Somehow, this is an unusual church, situated a few kilometres from Monsaraz. In spite of being very near this village, this chapel has not many visitors. Guess most part of them don't even know it exists. It's isolated in the middle of the field, like it has always been. It's formed by a little chapel and a little castle. The chapel, a very simple one, is mediaeval and it was built in the 13th century, in a rare type of romanesque style. The little castle has been added one or two centuries later. There is a chance that it has belonged to the Templars.
I guess it's the castle that turns it so different and unique.
