Paraćin je grad u Srbiji. Opstina Paracin zahvata deo bogatog i plodnog Srednjeg Pomoravlja, teritorija opstine Paraćin se spusta od Kucajskih planina na istoku prema Velikoj Moravi na zapadu ispresecana tokovima reka Crnice i Grze. Sam grad lezi na 130 m nadmorske visine, 4 km udaljenosti od reke Velike Morave i na obalama Crnice.
Prvo poznato naselje nastaje u ranoj praistoriji pre 8000 god. Sa prekidima ovde zive i prolaze razne etnicke populacije Tribali, Sarmati i Rimljani. Ubrzo se ovde nastanjuju i Sloveni sa naseljima od XI do XII veka. Pisani tragovi o nazivu Paracina kao trga sa panadjurom i trga na Parakinovom brodu vode iz XIV veka . U III veku nastaje poznato Rimsko naselje, Sarmates na putu Via militaris. Od 1861.god. Paracin dobija status varosi i ubrzo postaje poznat industrijski centar.
Nagli razvoj industrije nastaje krajem XIX veka. Osnivaju se fabrika vunenih tkanina brace Minh, fabrika cementa i fabrika stakla, pa tako pocetkom XX veka postaje znacajno ekonomsko mesto u Srbiji. Danas je to moderan trgovacki centar kome zbog geografskog polozaja i vaznih komunikacija prilaze i okolni manji gradovi.Sa razvojem industrije i ekonomije jaca drustveni i kulturni zivot, o cemu svedoce duboki istorijski tragovi. Paracin je jedan od najpoznatijih centara tekstilne industrije u Srbiji po proizvodnji vunenih tkanina. Mnogi Paracin nazivaju "Grad stofa"

Paracin is a city in Serbia. The Municipality of Paracin is part of the rich and fertile Middle Pomoravlje, the territory of the municipality of Paracin descends from the Kucajske Mountains in the east towards Velika Morava in the west, flowered by the streams of the Crnica and Grza rivers. The city itself lies at 130 m above sea level, 4 km away from the river Velika Morava and on the banks of Crnica.
The first known settlement was created in the early prehistory before 8000. With interruptions live here and there are various ethnic populations of Tribal, Sarmatian and Romans. Soon here, Slovenians settled in settlements from the 11th to the 12th centuries. Written traces of the name Paracin as a square with a backpack and a square on the Parakin's boat from the 14th century. In the 3rd century, the famous Roman settlement, the Sarmates on the Via Militaris, emerges. From 1861. Paracin gets the status of a town and soon becomes a famous industrial center.
The rapid development of industry is emerging at the end of the XIX century. The factory of woolen fabrics of the Minh brothers, the cement factory and glass factories are being founded, and in the beginning of the 20th century it became a significant economic place in Serbia. Today it is a modern shopping center, which, due to its geographical position and important communications, is also approached by the surrounding smaller towns. With the development of industry and economy, social and cultural life is strengthened, as evidenced by deep historical traces. Paracin is one of the most famous centers of the textile industry in Serbia for the production of woolen fabrics. Many Paracin are called "The City of the stofa"
