Photographer's Note

While travelling around Fuerteventura we happened across a village called Pajara, which had beautifully painted houses. They were a real contrast to the dry and dusty landscape.

Pajara is situated in the western hills of Fuerteventura and has a church with a striking "Aztec" stone-carved decoration around the main door. Apparently this type of stone carving is unique to the Canary Islands.
