Photographer's Note

We were high on the Moors above Lydford last Sunday,it had been a lovely day with a sprinkling of snow still remaining on the high moors, however late in the afternoon dark, threatening clouds began to gather over Brentor and day swiftly turned to night.
In the picture you can clearly see the distinctive outline of Brentor Church, beyond that on the left of the image is the Summit Stack of Kit Hill in Cornwall.
The Summit Stack built in 1858 for the Kit Hill Great Consols/ Kit Hill United mining complex and is a famous landmark. The chimney served a steam engine that pumped water and lifted ore from the deep mine workings.
