Photographer's Note

This is a view looking up to the Edinburgh Castle ramparts on the north side. The steel and aluminium is part of the support structure that is put in place every year for the Military Tattoo, held on the Castle esplanade.
It takes weeks to assemble and then weeks to take apart again, much to the annoyance, I'm sure, of the local residents whose extremely expensive property is adjacent to the castle walls. I think it shows a comparison between old and new design, both functional and in their own ways attractive.
