Photographer's Note

some small gorges on the Euphrate river, 50Km north of Diyarbakir city, Kurdistan, south-east Turkey.

This region is relatively flat and covered by fields that get yellow in the evening, and no threes at all. The climate is really continental with temperatures reaching minus 40蚓 in the winter and +40 in the summer.
Just below the place I took the picture, there was a ruined armenian church, reminder of the complex history of the whole region.
Behind me, was a huge irrigation canal built recently that turned the whole Diyarbakir region into a green paradise, but did upset the iraki and syrian neighbors downstream the drying river...
