Photographer's Note

I am not 100% certain but I think this was taken from the Doğanlı Kale (Dogan Castle) a few km north west of the village of ポkurca. The castle dates from Phrygian times, & they migrated to this part of Turkey from Thrace after the fall of the Hittites. The castle was later used by the Romans and Byzantines. Midas is perhaps the most well known Phrygian. He was extremely rich but rumoured to also be extremely greedy. Everything he touched turned to gold. But the joy from the granting of his wish by the Gods was very shortlived, for when he embraced his daughter, she, too, turned into a solid gold statue.

Another location not previously uploaded to Trek Earth!

A better view of the castle I found on internet.
