This has a dark and a stark story to tell. Not many of us dare with camera... in your hands it feels so organic and part of scene. I would not comment on elements - it is the sheer 'pleasure' of it I would rather stay with. Thanks for a wonderful post George

Nogi i buty na pierwszym planie, reszta na ulicznym "kaloryferze"...
Doskonaly POV, lepiej nie mozna byloby tutaj sobie poradzic...

Those military type boots and B&W colors gave me an impression like I'm looking at a photo that is taken during war time!

Nie wiem jak w Kanadzie, ale w Krakowie są noclegownie dla bezdomnych. A i tak często widzi się bezdomnych ludzi, nocujących na zewnątrz w takie mrozy. Dobre ujęcie, sprawia wrażenie jakby ten człowiek juz nie zyl. Mocne i tragiczne.

Really Great photo!!! this is masterpiece! Even from my point of view, because I do not like "hard" topics. But this is reality as it is, even quintessence of the people nature! I would like to see this work somehow on your personal exibition! ;-)

Hello George,
A strong and thought-provoking presentation. There are two worlds in this photo: one of homelessness, and one of "the rest of us", represented by the woman in the winter coat strolling by in the background. Great POV, too. I can't imagine how anyone can bare such bone-biting cold, day after day, night after night...

What a POV, low down & almost thrusting on the guy, possibly a street guy, homeless! The picture impacts the viewer hard...that's what you intended to do & definitely achieved. A super shot which speaks for itself, loudly!

What a POV! You certainly know how to compose these shots for maximum impact, George. Living in a hot climate when I feel cold if it drops below 20 degrees C (which it never does), I can't imagine how people can sleep on the streets when it is minus 11 - even if it is over a warm grill.

Looks like this guy has a pretty good pair of boots for a homeless person (I suppose you need them in temperatures like that).
