Montreal is the most populous municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec and the second-most populous municipality in Canada. Originally called Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary", it is named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city.

To took this photo at Kondiaronk Belvedere in Mont Royal Park. Mont Royal is a large volcanic-related hill or small mountain and site for the Park. The hill consists of three peaks: Colline de la Croix (or Mont Royal proper) at 233 m (764 ft), Colline d'Outremont (or Mount Murray, in the borough of Outremont) at 211 m (692 ft), and Westmount Summit at 201 m (659 ft) elevation above mean sea level.

The Kondiaronk Belvedere is named for the Petun chief Kondiaronk, whose influence led to the Great Peace of Montreal in 1701. There is placed the Mount Royal Chalet. The chalet was constructed in 1932 with French Beaux Arts structure designed by Montreal architect Aristide Beaugrand-Champagne.

The building can host various events with room for 300 to 700 patrons. The southside of the building is a bricked courtyard and lookout with a view of Montreal's skyline from Mont-Royal (where I was).
