Photographer's Note

The Icefields Parkway runs like a ribbon through some of the wildest and most beautiful scenery in the Rockies, the only link to civilization and its conveniences and problems. The section between Saskatchewan River Crossing and the Big Bend (just south of the Jasper National Park boundary) is particularly stunning in late September, as tens of thousands of aspens along the route suddenly blaze yellow. For fall colors, I found it to be the best spot on the Parkway. Views of massive Mount Murchison and other behemoth peaks don't hurt either.
