Photographer's Note

Went on a day drive around Terrace, BC to survey my newly assigned pastoral district.

i was planning to drive up to Kitwanga but the highway was closed due to a landslide so I ended driving up the Nisga'a Highway.

the Nisga'a Memorial Lava Bed Park is an example of natures eruptive powers expanding over 18,000 hectares and including a 10 kilometre lava flow and existing craters. The lava, led by a creek bed, flowed into Lava Lake then down the Kii Sii Aks River to the Nass River bed. The lava accumulated here forming a 10 kilometre long and 3 kilometre wide lava plain pushing the Nass River north.
