Photographer's Note
The art THINGS in photography
Actually - it was never clearly determined where the regular photography ends and the art photography begins…
One ( of many) factors would be - the moment YOU have purchased a camera and YOU are going to show to the world what an art in photography is all about !
The new era in photography is just about to erupt with the full blast…
And, usually - it does… With the one and only, undeniable proof of artistry…
The shots of the pavement THINGS !!!
Those are the THINGS I was talking about lately…
Next to the shots of people's silhouettes at the end of the tunnel, portraits from India, frosted bicycles in Amsterdam, chairs and park benches covered with the blue snow…
Still - despite a huge competitions - the pavements THINGS ( especially those tilted 43.6 deg.CCW), with the pieces of the tramway tracks and the manholes - are hard to beat…
Nothing can further express the depth of our intellectual thinking than the shots of pavement THINGS from above, or - more bravado - shots of the pavements of the streets made from the level of the pavements of the streets…
Years ago ( a lot of years ago !) - while my less advanced colleagues stayed within the level of photographing walls with some unspecified fragments of people in front of them, or - even higher level - photographing posters with the unspecified fragments of people in front of them - I skipped the level of photographing windows, door hinges, flowers and frosted bicycles in Amsterdam and moved to the very top of the art photography with the excellent shots of the empty pavements !
Something must have stayed in me over the years - because when I saw recently this excellent fragment of the tramway tracks ( abandoned long time ago - mind you !) in the streets of Toronto - I could hardly catch my breath…
Here it is - the pavement with the manholes… And, the steel tracks !!!
Glory hallelujah !!!
Unfortunately (like in many, many other cases) - the people's rude behavior of interrupting my photo session of tet-à-tête with the asphalt - didn't allow me to accomplish my task to full extent…
I feel sorry guys, and I deeply apologize for your disappointment…
Those of you who really appreciate the photography THINGS art - are deeply hurt right now seeing those shamelessly exposed fragments of human origins in the photo but, I promise you to post shortly - an artistic version of the traffic sign, or graffiti on the wall or, with the bit of luck - a photo of the stairs or some roof perhaps, or somethn'…
As long as it is fully artistic to the deepest core of it…
…………….
Now - I really understand that you folks, are running out of green makakas (judging upon rewarding my recent, posts and due, I strongly believe - to the global financial crisis, so please consider to substitute the green with the yellow ones - without any hesitation…
We have to somehow solve that world turmoil and get back on the tracks all together… Errr.. I mean get back on the tracks…
Errr… I mean…
Forget it..!!!

I really like the tracks and that manhole cover is just fantastic, not to mention the different shades of grey in the pavement...oh yeah, those lovely ladies in the foreground look great as well. ;)

you crack me up, George - you're the Blackadder of TE.
BTW, this is the first photo of yours I remember seeing here on TE (I am jsut a rookie) and I remember thinking that whoever shoots something like this must have a healthy sense of humor.

Ha, I'd like to give a green makaka to your text too, a bit on the long side, still, it made me laugh, even though I've heard some of it before:)))
Very curvy, pink, high, hmm...Toronto looks an incredibly fascinating place through your lens, that 20 mm again, erect ? :P. Sure the view helps. I like the light funny kitchiness of this.
I also wish like someone above you had taken care of that overblown sky with some bluish tint in the trees...the trees ? unforgivable...oh, well, as long as it is not Bushes...I guess we can go along with it. A b/w would take away that pink...
And what's the tram number ? Love and tracks

P.S. People are increasingly rude these days. :)))

Very very very funny, George! The title choice is brilliant. I have a dirty mind, I know. But, as they say, a healthy dirty mind. A bit overexposed (the pavement and the sky, that is), I think it would need a good PP cosmetic job, but great material as is.

Olá G!
A lot of life happens over the pavements, but some also underground.

Hello George,
How dare those PEOPLE interupt your enjoyment of things with their nasty butts and hooker boots! I see you cut their heads off, so we would look up the crevice of the one on right.
This is a dirty picture! There are children to protect!

Hello George,
I would also like to hunt and capture the things with a twisted perspective like yours. Incredible manhole & tracks with desirable intruders. Great notes & lesson in photography. Regards. Latiff.
