Nara e' famosa non solo per i suoi templi ma anche per le centinaia di caprioli Sika che girano liberamente per la citta' e il parco. considerati sacri fino alla seconda guerra mondiale, i caprioli godono oggi dello status di "bene culturale" nazionale.
contrariamente a quanto accade a Miyajima, dove e' vietato dare da mangiare ai caprioli, a Nara e' possibile comprare dei biscotti creati apposta per loro: non provate a mangiarli, come ho visto fare a qualche turista...

Nara is famous not only for its shrines and temples but also for its numerous Sika deer. once sacred, they lost this status after WW II and are now considered National Treasure. the Nara Sika deer are very friendly but constantly in search for food - unlike in Miyajima, where it's forbidden to feed the local deer, in Nara it's possible to buy crackers to feed them - don't you try to eat them, like I saw some tourists doing...
