Andean Laguna, a photo from Potosi, South

Photographer's Note

This is one of the several Lagunas along the standard Southwestern Circuit in Bolivian Altopiano.
As for all these lakes, flamingoes live here. Minerals and algae typically color water in very weird ways.
Snowcapped volcanoes are scattered all around.
I keep repeating it every time I post a picture of this place: it is one of the most amazing and beautiful places I have ever seen.

The colours are beautiful and vivid.
Fantastic how you used the foreground to create wideness and depth and then the volcanos with their snow-capped peaks in the back...
This is really a beautiful picture.

Ciao Stefano! che meraviglia questi posti. Spero di chiederti consigli per visitarli, un giorno o l'altro, ma per ora la famiglia mi tiene ferma in Friuli.

Qui la composizione si basa sulla forte riga orizzontale e (io credo) sulla curva della piccola onda. I colori fanno il resto, magnifico!

Bella scansione dell'originale chimico su Velvia per un paesaggio di un nitore assoluto.
E' pur vero che una parte del merito � del soggetto straordinario, ma il fotografo ha fatto la sua parte, disponendo i piani prospettici, componendo gli elementi e amministrando luci ed ombre al meglio.

Hi Stefano,
I think there are no better brands or colours that can compete with the Fuji Velvia.I love the blue colour degrees and the tusocks formation on the lake border that愀 also an important detail of this picture,grande!

The high quality makes it difficult to believe this is a scan of a 7 years old image, but it's easy to believe the colours are Velvia. There is excellent depth in the image with several layers including the tufted grass in the foreground. Beautiful shot. Well done

Hello Stefano,
Velvia still holds its own today, even against the finest digital cameras. The problem is the scanning and analog to digital conversion process, especially where resizing and compressing the photo for the web is concerned. This is quite a remarkable travel photograph of this amazing scenery. It looks like you are in the middle of nowhere with the nearest town being at least 100 miles away. I like everything about your image and this is a beautiful and unusual Trek Earth posting. Excellent photography!

when I was there I was very near of this place but we were obligated to scape of some indians who had closed the national park entrance, then we were obligated to go to another way, avoiding this lake. The area is fantastic itself. Here wonderful pov and colors and light too
