Photographer's Note

The Botanical Gardens located in west part of the city it is one of the favourite place for Sunday family walk, while visiting Lodz.

The Botanical Gardens occupy the area of 64.1 ha next to the extensive park in the "Zdrowie" (Health) recreational district. The nearly 3,500 plant species and varieties are housed in the following sections: taxonomy of herbaceous plants, an alpine garden, plant biology, park greenery, decorative plants, herbs and medicinal plants for industrial use, flora of Poland, arboretum and the Japanese garden.

Due to the space it occupies in Ł鏚ź Botanic Garden is one of the biggest attractions of this type in Poland. Garden which we can see today was built in the '60s twentieth century.

The Botanical Gardens also offer gardening advice, do guided tours for groups of school children and put on botanical shows throughout the year.
