Photographer's Note
Air B & B
Last winter, I saw this man in the neighbourhood, putting up a bird's nesting house in the bare trees.
I thought it was a good omen for the spring to come and I wanted to share it with you on this coming New Year, hoping that efforts will carry on being made for the saving of bio-diversity.
Thanks to different actions like this, we can enjoy quite a variety of birds in and around our gardens.
For the anecdote, this man told me he was opening an R B & B (Air Birds and Bats :-) He had also put up special boxes for bats !
Happy New Year to all TE members around the world and to all the wildlife.
For those interested in bird-watching, I shall add in WS a few of the birds we can enjoy watching in and around our neighbourhood.

Philippe

Hi MarieLouise
wow, that is some THICK THICK looking brush! I don't think a person could run through it even if they tried at full speed hahaha. Heck, it may even stop a car haha. Good thing the mas was wearing a bright blue jacked or he'd be hard to spot. Its great how you decided to leave out all the sky and ground, just branches upon more branches. Yes, Happy New Year to you as well :) cheers

Hello dear Marie Louise,
Happy new year to you and your family and friends! Amusing picture. There are so many branches around, how this guy went there? You are lucky that you can observe so many birds.

Hello Marie Louise,
Very nice capture and many interesting notes hereto.
That's exactly what I'm also doing in my garden and the gardens of our neighbours. Meanwile I've made and installed more than a dozen nesting houses and we enjoy now every spring our winged friends flying in and out !
TFS and all the best for a happy and healthy new year.

Hello Marie-Louise,
Three interesting and attractive photos, supposed to become more in the next few days. Making life safer and more comfortable for birds (and even bats) will eventually benefit humans too, not only for the pleasure of watching them. In this photo the branches and twigs, brightened by the strong light, also create a very fine pattern,
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour MarieLouise,
I will wait to see the complete set of WS'S about the birds, and sure hope they will accomodate the new Air-B&B mounted for them.
Wish you and your family, a happy new 2019 year.
Ike
*** My opinion would be that each bird photo to be posted as main picture day after day, humbly stated

Hello Marie Louise,
This is a good photo of the man on the ladder busy installing the bird's house. It was a bright and sunny day just before the start of spring. His blue coat stands out from the many branches of the trees. Well done.

Bonjour Marie Louise,
A beautiful extensive reportage with birds of different plumage. You could have made a number of pictures in my garden. Especially with the "air restaurant". To see the color of the net of the same concern as the bird-eateries in my garden.
But the most beautiful picture is the man who hangs his RB & B carefully in the tree.
Happy New Year,
Have a good Sunday, groet Rob

The last years are much Black birds dead in Belgium through a disease, Usutu.
I like your nice additional picture with the different birds.
The man placing the nesting house on the perfect moment.
Create very much depth and perspective.
You chose a nice angle, you create nice picture and sharp image .
Very well done, TFS.

Hi MarieLouise
A great idea to put in some weather proof bird and bat shelters. When winter came in South Korea, the bird's nests were all totally exposed to the wind, rain and snow, because all the leaves had gone. Some of the nests fell into the street. Tfs!

HI MarieLouise
Without your notes one wonders what he's up to within mass of tree branches! The stunning colour contrast and crispiness draw the eye straightaway benefit of brilliant light. Excellent observation and nicely take. Congrats

Hello Marie-Louise,
I like this post of yours because the Air Birds and Bats made me laugh, and I like the ws photo of a hoopoe. Did you notice that Ike Harel showed this bird in one of his recent uploads? What a coincidence! And in one of the critiques for his photos I read, that this special, rare bird was common fifty years ago in the region of Germany (Niedersachsen) where I live now. What a pity I never had the chance to see one of them here nor elsewhere in Germany. I saw them in Spain, but only for a short glimpse and too far away to take photos.
Thanks for sharing,
elvira

Saluti
Carlo

Bonjour Chere MarieLouise,
I just had to follow this one up!
I love to feed the birds and this w/e will be the Big Bird Count for the RSPB. WE spend an hour recording the number and variety of birds visiting our garden.
I must admit, you have some species that we don't see. I hear a woodpecker drumming on the trees but have only seen it (a greater spotted) twice in 20years!
Like for you, the robin is a cheeky chappie in our garden, waiting for any opportunity to find some food!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful parade of birds!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Marie Louise, good man doing this job, although it cannot have been easy working amongst the branches.
Your tight crop emphasises the density of the tree.
Thanks for the delightful bird pictures.

Oi, Marie-Louise!

Lindo trabajo!
