Photographer's Note

Volcano Licancabur, about 6000 meters, is in the south western Bolivia, at the chilean border. The lake is called Laguna Verde, and it is an astonishing lake which changes tones of green and blue according to the wind, as algae in the water reflect light in a different way. Here you say a frozen part of the lake which is almost grey, and the other part which is bright green-blue.

I remember this place extremely cold and windy. It was well below zero even at noon. Here I felt, as I never happened before, how powerfull nature can be.
The Volcano is huge over the lake (there are actually two lakes, separated by a narrow stretch of sand), the sky is clean and dark blue, the weather conditions can be extreme.
It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
