Memorial JK

Beyond the Television Tower and towards the western end of the Monumental Axis is a monument, mausoleum and museum dedicated tothe founder of Bras璱ia, President
Juscelino Kubitschek. Inaugurated in September 1981, the monument is a tall pole topped by a statue of Kubitschek inside a crescent moon. The Memorial is built on the site of Bras璱ia's first Mass, and its circular chapel contains Kubitscheks tomb. The museums entrance goes through an underground area designed by Niemeyer. It has rooms containing the original plans forthe city, Kubitscheks personal library, his clothes and medals, and pictures and documents of Kubitschek fromchildhood to his last days. There is also 310 person auditorium, where films about the building of Bras璱ia are featured regularly.
Athos Bulc緌 created the panels at the entrance and in the Mortuary Chamber. Marianne Peretti is the designer of the stained glass window above the tomb in JKs Memorial. JKs statue in front of the Memorial is created by Honorio Pe蓷nha.
