Eyal: I enjoy those desert pictures with the stark landscape. This is a very good one too. I would enjoy exploring this area not only because of the landscape but also for the rich human history. The only thing I might have done was to burn in the highlight area in the whiteish stone. It is a little blown-out. Like the photo.

Thanks for the wonderful shot of the DC-3. In the late 70's I was fortunate to get to fly as co-pilot on a DC-3, and jump from one many times - I was a smokejumper in Montana. This is one of my favorite airplanes.

I agree with you about the best part of travel is observing everyday life. Eva: this is a wonderful photo that captures life in a far off place. It does look like maybe it could use a boost of contrast. Nice picture.

Jim: great shot of the flower. I especially like the sharpnes of the photo and the crispness of the color. As far as the sharpness level of USM, 120 is just an arbitrary number. For example, some of my photos are very large scans over 125megs in size because they start from a medium format size. I might use upto 200 on USM - in other words, the number does not mean anything... a smaller file size might be ok with a lower setting of USM. The only thing that counts is how it actually looks. 120 might be fine for this photo and too high or too low for a different photo. Does that make sense? Hope so.

An extremely powerful photograph. If only more people could see this photo perhaps attention could be brought to help these poor kids. Good job Nicolas.

John: Nice shot of the North Pier. Back in late 60's I lived in Grand Haven, have relatives there now. I have many photos of the South Pier with the light house.

Phil: Good documentary photo of life for the locals during war time conditions. I've enjoyed all of your photos and hope there are more of them. Take care and stay safe.

Vijay: Excellant photo and fantastic explanation/story to help us understand the backgroound. I like the colors and sharpness. The man peering over the shoulder of the man in the foreground adds drama too.
