Dust? I think that's a flare from the sunlight. I was at Meiji Shrine last week and there were several wedding parties, among all the children dressed up in kimono for the 7-5-3 festival.

At first glance of the thumbnail, I thought it was a silhouette of the Sphynx in Egypt, except, of course, there's a nose. Great atmospheric shot.

This is a great frozen moment. I like how the archer's right hand is positioned with the fingers splayed out after the release of the arrow, and how the horse's front hoof is turned up. The only thing that realy detracts from the photo is the lamppost, and maybe also the woman in sunglasses. Great shot, anyway. I've always been fascinated by yabusame - a teacher at a school I worked at in Kumamoto used to practice it. ps. I didn't realise this was your first posting to TE. Welcome. Keeo them coming if they're all as good as this.

Very nice composition but there's a part of the guttering that should be cropped off at the extra left. My parents visited Carcassonne in the 1970s and I've always wanted to go there .. now it's one of my favourite games.

I had a Canadian teacher in 6th Grade and he showed us a film about loons, so I've always wanted to see and hear one. I've been to Canada twice and still haven't seen a loon (as in bird). Nice picture and composed very well.

I like the compositional elements of the posts, with the foam of the wave splashing up. However, the horizon isn't straight.
