Very evocative Matt with excellent framing, drawing us into the scene. I like the conversion to what appears to be a duotone rendering. Fine sharpness. Well done on every level.

Congratulations Rinie! This is a wonderful photo, especially hand held at 1/6th of a second shutter speed. And imagine... ISO 1000. It looks great. No doubt you'll have a wonderful holiday with your new Nikon gear as companions. Don't forget the 30 f/1.4... You might want to get in some crowds and take a few candid shots at f/2. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself.

Is anyone surprised a woman traveling with her sisters would find a jewelry shop? Great photo Rinie, but what really motivated me to post this critique is that it will catapult you over 9000 points. I know that is not the game you're playing here, nor is it for me. But it is too enticing to ignore the possibility. I note that your 18-200 has remained glued to the front of your D70 since you bought it. What a wonderful travel lens. Fine work with it as well.

Ah, Dominique! We've shared the glory years of TE when joy suffused exchanges. I'm grateful that I wasn't present as things unraveled though I'm curious what happened. Claude promised to tell me his version of events but I've yet to receive that email. I'm old enough that I've experienced the inevitable dissolution of what seemed at the moment to be incredibly precious. Scientists tell us all systems are subject to entropy that leads gradually to disorder. I guess we should not be surprised that a love of photography may not be enough to overcome other idioscyncracies that plague us as humans. I'll likely not leave, though with the passing of each person whose presence has given me so much pleasure, this place becomes a more barren place. I appreciate your aesthetic approach to photography as well as your always entertaining and enlightening comments. This simple composition is a perfect case in point. The disarray of instruments whose masters have departed together with the music stands holding open sheet music speaks volumes metaphorically of the case you make. Yes, you will be missed. I appreciate that it is difficult to invest one's energy in a venture when one's heart is not in it. Be well.

Fine action Richard, red ball in air, batsman about to swing. And everything with such fine clarity and color. I've never understood cricket, though when living in Seattle I often visited Vancouver, British Columbia and watched a bit of the game being played at a local pitch. This is a fine contribution to TE...summer in Britain, and elsewhere around the world, of course.

This is a lovely composition with a softness that suits the subject matter perfectly. The tight crop pulls us in to what is essential, the sweet face with its curious expression. The small clip in her hair speaks of the sweetness of childhood. Very nice Julia. Very touching.

Delightful note and wonderfully simple, evocative image. Technically, the image is first rate with excellent clarity at the point of focus and lovely bokeh in the background. The subject, of course, is obscure for anyone without familiarity with this game, but your note admirably orients us to what we are seeing. Fine work on every level Julia. I'll definitely keep an eye out for your work. And welcome, again, to TE.

This is a wonderful confection Rinie with all the features of what looks like a magnificent church distorted by this highly polished pedestal base. What a unique way to show us some of the features of the church. I guess lying on your back with a 15mm fisheye lens would create a similar effect. Her you creatively take advantage of the shape of this chrome base. And, you get excellent clarity as well. You must be a magician, either that or a sorcerer... ;-) And yes, I see a deep red scalp and two sets of fingers at the bottom of the circle... a self-portrait indeed. Great fun.

The slight blur in both the boy on the bicycle and the young man carrying toilet paper gives a bit of an other worldly quality to the scene, especially so with the reflected figures that appear to be disappearing into the concrete wall. The elements play with the mind as though one had just taken a puff of a marijuana cigarette... or so I've been told since I NEVER inhaled... ;-) I don't think you were around when I posted a similar image with a reflection that was quite fun. It was called Attitude. I like the image and I enjoy hearing the story of how it came about. I didn't know you had so much leisure time to be hanging out at your father's store. How nice! Keep them coming Line... always a pleasure.

Wow! This is great fun Andre. What a study in bold colors. The fact that you allow the image to be askew like this adds both interest and energy... nothing is square except the simple frame. I like everything about this image. Fine work.
