This is a very good one Stephen What an amazing place ! Wish I was there. Beautiful light on top of that and those islands in the distance are simply wonderful. Very nice effect on the water. Any extra NR you've done here ? Anyway - beautiful shot :) Cheers Piotr

Very nice shot Stephen, but that blue cast (which is a I guess a side effect of over-saturation) looks very artificial to me :/ I've noticed some tendency in your recent shots that many times you're trying to be too colourful. I understand that lots of folks enjoy shots dripping with crazy colours, but less is usually better in my opinion. Otherwise the thin line between reality and s-f begins to blur. That's just my two pennies in this matter :] Cheers Piotr

O yes - Loch Awe is really beautiful and the whole surrounding area is spectacular. If only they had removed that bloody electric posts from the hill in the background :) You've captured a very nice light here. I like that tree-framing idea too (must say I have something similar in my collection :) Talking about composition I feel that a bit of the left side is unecessary here and I would probably crop that out. That would help to place castle in the "strong point" and get rid of that post too. One final thing is some unaccurate darkening/enlightening around those dark trees in the middle. There is some visible halo-effect, which is a bit distracting to me :) Cheers Piotr

Very nice view - first of all. Simple, but yet effective composition, escpecially with those dynamic clouds in the sky. Technical side is, however not as good as composition. It lacks some sharpness & clarity and I think that the saturation is a bit over the top (just check that yellow part of the sky over the horizon - it has some strange greenish colour cast) I would also change a bit of a white balance in the lower part - to make that rugged coast stand out from the water. Beside that - nice coastal shot Cheers, Piotr

Congratulations on your trip Adam Amazing place and amazing scale. I remember a lot of your wide-angle shots but this one is also a great one. I like your composition but I have two remarks : 1) I think your photo is slightly titled to the left (if you check some reflections on the water you'll notice a slight tilt) 2) The sky part in the upper left corner doesn't look good. It's too noisy to my taste, which is quite dissapointing taking into account the equippment you've used. Beside that a very nice shot Adam Regards, Piotr

Piekne, delikatne swiatlo i doskonale uchwycone barwy. Technicznie nienagannie. Az milo popatrzec. Pozdr

Hello Stephen First of all - really amazing place. I've seen a lot of photos from this place but can't recognise this spot. Good for you then - for originality :) I like your composition - you presented a true essence of that coast in this scene. Now - a couple of things I don't like. First of all I hate people in this scene. I know it's a matter of personal taste but in my opinions they completely spoil the mood of such an amazing (and wild) place. Next thing (more important) is the post processing done here. It's quite obvious for me that some dodging/burning was done here. There is a large "halo offect" around that cliff on the right side - which is a side effect of some imprecise retouching. I would also darken some shadow parts to create more 3-D sense of this shot. In my opinion they are a bit too bright resulting the whole photo to be a bit flat. Beside that - a very good shot. Cheers, Piotr

For me this is a winner Stephen. I knew it by just looking at the thumbnail :) First impression is it may feels like a completely cluttered composition but it just fantastic. Good work on the exposure, too. Nothing more to add. Great stuff Stephen. Cheers, Piotr
