The scanner I'm using now is a Plustek 8200i. Whether it's better or worse than my old Nikon scanner I don't know, because I use it with a program called VueScan which I have downloaded from the net. It's not free but not very expensive. It has been updated several times, and probably improved, since I first bought it more than 10 years ago. I have probably improved too.
