Great kansasexplorer 2010-02-04 7:11

Quite an exciting action shot - interesting composition (is this cropped?) and amazing detail. Making good use of that D700, Dieter.

Default To kansasexplorer: Thanks

Hi Frank/Franklin (not sure if you go by your full name)

Thanks very much for the compliment. This image is cropped, not by much. I can get really close to the kayakers at this location. The lens I used here was the Nikon AF VR Zoom-Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED. Its not the fastest or sharpest lens in the world but for the most part it does a great job for what I need.

The D700 sure is a beautiful camera, its low light capabilities are incredible. I wish it had video like your D90do you do much video with your D90? I think that Nikon will come out with a D700 that has video, as they did with the D300s.

Thanks againlook out for more kayaking pics soon ☺ I was looking at your photos, I love the Tall Grass Prairie photo. The sky and clouds are great and the color of the grass is wonderful.
