The secret is that I didn't get up so high. The mountains are at 1900m and I'm only at 550m. I used my Canon lens 70-210 IS USM combined with the Canon converter x1.4. In addition to that, you get 1.6x because of the APS sensor size in the Canon 7D. So it was like almost using a 500mm. And the mist just hides enough the surrounding not to realise it is seen from below and from quite far.
