none of those lenses would be the same unless they were on a full frame camera. that's a large part of the point. and 2 5Ds cost the same as 1 D3.

You follow your star, Narayan - a glance at your new impressive website says all anyone needs to know about your abilities and graphical leanings. Primes are great as long as a) you are willing to spend a little time on assignment (as opposed to BAGGING a couple of quick shots for a newspaper THAT DAY) and b) you don't mind zooming with your feet a bit ;o) Some of the greatest Nat Geo/Magnum members are primes users (Webb, Harvey to name but two).
My own lens line up at the moments is as follows: 17-40 F4L 28mm f1.8 50mm f1.4 100mm f2.0 so...you know...I won't be one to argue with you. |

and that's a lot of... i want to spend more time, make myself think more, make myself fit it into the frame... I think it will make me more disciplined at the same time. Now I have an all prime line up: 24, 35, 50, 85, 135... and all fast. It all arrived today (friday) and I took it out for a local workshop. I'll post a shot from it.
