Skies are weird so high. When I flew last time, Bangkok to Lax, during the day, Thai airlines shut all windows shades the entire trip, shut off the lghts, pretended it was night, and let no one open the shadeson the windows. That way they did not have to serve anyone anythig almost the entire flight! I finally had a seat without a wing, and no pictures! I will never fly Thai again!!!! this is a great picture!

To touristdidi: I will never fly Thai again either!!
The exact same thing happened to me on my FRA-BKK flight with Thai which is more scenic than your BKK-LAX flight, There's nothing more disappointing and frustrating for an aviation enthusiast like myself to be forced to close his window shade on a long and very scenic flight!
