Thanks for mentioning the etymology of "Rollon", which is the French version of the Scandinavian name "Holfr" or Rolf.
Yes, "Normandy"'s origin has everything to do with" Norway". At one point, it was thought "Nor" came from "North". Later they found it probably comes from "Nore"= "Narrow", referring to the inner archipelago sailing route through the land "Narrow way"= "Norway". And a "Norman" would have been "Nore Man".
