As much as I know, there is no city in the world with two catholic cathedrals.
The church to the left is Cuzco's Cathedral; the one to the right is a church known as La Compa劖a (Jesuit).
Both were built during the colonial period in Peru.

Default The Difference

So it is:
The cathedral is a catholic church, but bigger than any other in the city, or at least that was so in the colonial times in this part of the world. It is the main church in the city; the Bishop or the Cardinal give mass there, normally.
They are in a central part of a city, usually in front of the main square, as in Cuzco or Lima.
At least in the colonial era they were the only churches permitted to have 3 doors, all others maximum 2.
They don't have to have another church nearby, as in Cuzco (La Compa劖a) or in Cajamarca (San Francisco). That happend only when a holy order was powerful enough as to need to be so close.
