Great batalay 2007-01-02 9:29

Hello Jason,
What is quite remarkable to me in this photo is the lack of distortion in the plate glass, as you would expect to see. It's a well conceived and executed photo.

When you look into a room or a couryard, there is convergence of the lines of perspective at one-vanishing point on the horizon. If you look at the exterior edge of a building, the lines of perspective (extrapolated from the roof line, windows, ground, etc. all converge at two vanishing points. Finally, in observing a very tall building, you've not doubt noticed that the vertical "parallell" lines also converg -- at a third vanishing point high in the sky.

Regards,
Bulent

Default To batalay: Reflection

I am actually quite amazed that you picked this shot and even more impressed that you picked up on the lines. Normally, I think when most people see a reflection piece they want it to be an exact duplicate of the original but transposed onto a different surface. Here the lines are what make it different. I just wish that I would have gotten the top of the tower in. To me it seems a little unbalanced... Thanks again for the great comment!
