A good portrait, plenty of character. I am interested to know how people approach this sort of photo, do you ask first or explain afterwards?

well, to be honest, I just shot and went away...What you see is a cropped part of a bigger view with lots of going on. The problem with asking is that people don't behave naturally anymore. Maybe it should be at least explained afterwards - I didn't have the guts to do it...
