Hi, Kristaps -
In some ways the WS is even more interesting than the main shot, with the grouping of people and the chiaroscuro effect on their faces - not to mention all that nearby lava!
But this shot has a nice minimalism to it, and strong diagonals created not just by the lines of the volcano (including the side piece on the left), but also by the clouds.
Best,
Dan
PS: Did you bring marshmallows?

hi Dan
I actually had posted the worshop one a while ago as a main post, but when I looked at it from my office computer, it seemed way too dark so I deleted it. I have another one (better technical quality) with folks admiring lava rivers: I'll see if I can post it later. As to marshmallows: you were not far off. folks were burning their walking sticks in lava... the catch is: the edges of the lava river were not stable at all, rupturing and collapsing right before our eyes. If it ruptures: you do not want to be in that spot; it's not exactly the same as when ice breaks and you fall into icy water. Nonetheless, it did not seem to bother the bravehearts you see in my workshop post. Laters Kristaps |
