Great ACL1978 2013-05-14 17:32

Hi Kaj - for a new, pretend castle it certainly has an old and weathered look - its builders knew how to mock it up well! And some impressive detective work on your part to locate this shot.

Though a scan, a bit of processing might remove some of the noise from the shot, as it is slightly distracting in the sky and mountains.

Cool To ACL1978: Distracting noise...

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your input on my latest upload. Once you've mentioned the noise I realize how distracting it is, especially in the mountains. I'm not really sure why there's so much noise.

I've worked with post-processing along two lines, where the other image is brighter with less noise. But the sky was partially blown out, so I decided to upload this one.

However, both images have quite a substantial amount of noise, which I think is due to some flaw in my editing process. It seems I'm able to reduce the noise in one step and bringing it back later in another.

And in this upload, my main interest was finding out where, how, why and when.

I'll have another go on the original and maybe upload a final version...

Best regards,
