and i take it you rent the skates here on location?
this is a must do i guess huh? I know i'd be doing it if I were here.

To macjake: Skating
Hello Craig,
I have never ice skated! I'm sure I would barely be able to stand, so I prefer watching.  The fee for admission at Rockefeller Center is $27 ($30 right around Christmas) and the skate rental fee is $12. The rink is open from October to April. The lines are really long during the holidays, but some people seem to enjoy all of that madness! There are other rinks in the city, but this is the one on everyone's "must do" list.
