Good afternoon Knut!
The centuries are speaking!Very lovely colors and textures of the stone wall. Good colors and details. The photo is very well composed.I have a question? On the bottom of the picture I see a mesh wire. Looks like permanently installed. Because of falling parts of the building ?
Thanks for posting
regards ziggy

Hello Ziggy,
right you are, sometimes pieces of the stones are crumbling down. Since the industrial times, air pollution in combination with rain destroys quite a lot, which outlasts allthe centuries in a relatively good conditions. This phenomenon is to be seen everywhere on old buildings constructed of sand- or limestone. You will see on all the old cathedrals in Europe, there are always some parts of them hidden under scaffoldings; like the 'Münster' in Freiburg, where years ago a block of some tons came down; to have a look -> http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Germany/photo93136.htm Have a nice dayand bye!
