Hello Mariusz,
As a Biology teacher I'm confronted on a regular base with students who claim that evolution is 'just" a theory, always a good base to explain what a scientific theory just is.
On the other hand, some friends of mine tend to use science as a religion, claiming it proves God does not exist.

Hi Gerrit,
in fact the viruses like coronaviruses, HIV or flu, very well illustrate the evolution happening in a "real time". What they have in common is that they are RNA viruses and RNA polymerase is very much error prone, this would be a disaster for organisms but works as an advantage for the viruses. It ensures they mutate rapidly > evolve even within one patient. That is why the drug cocktails for people with AIDS help them only temporarily. That is why there will never be an efficient vaccine or medicine against those viruses. Kind regards, Mariusz
