Little Sahara, a photo from Boa Vista, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

As mentioned before, the advantage of being part of the organized tour was that I was able to experience more places in a short period of time. The roads were pretty much not existent in this area so without a guide you wouldn㦙 be able to find your way at all, and you would need to dig out your quad from the sand by yourself many times ha ha. The main disadvantage was that I didn㦙 have enough chances for taking as many photos as I would like to. This view again was amazing in the real life but now when I look at it, something is missing. I think I would be happy with it if all three vertical layers were about the same width in the frame. The bottom layer which is kind of important was marginalized. Nevertheless, because I don㦙 have many photos from this beautiful place, I wanted to share this view as well. Facing nearly towards the sun the colors were slightly washed out so again I decided to go for the black and white version.

Hello Mariusz, this shot is quite surreal, especially presented in black and white.
The light is wonderful, in places the sand actually looks like the sea.

it is a marvelous vertical compo. the textures and effects of light are amazing in the sand and the presence of those beautiful solid mountains ahead added a special visual effect. excellent.

Fantastic view of the sandy area here, the smooth shapes in the middle with subtle differences between light and dark are wonderful and the contrast with the darker hills in the distance is also great. Very well captured in a good vertical composition.

Leaving the bottom layer aside for a moment, you might think you are looking above a layer of clouds at mountain peaks in the distance.
Fantastic scenery!
So all that sand came in from the Sahara.
Did you see new sand falling on the island during your stay? Maybe you were completely covered in sand every night ...?
